At Stone Fox Hair we always endeavour to treat you like we do our closest friends – with respect, honesty, and trust. We promise to provide a candid perspective with kindness, so you’ll always have the full story of what is or isn’t achievable with your hair, and our professional recommendations on what style will look the best while meeting all your needs.

We value an open line of communication; each Stone Fox stylist welcomes your feedback, and will always take it constructively. If something doesn’t meet your expectations, we want to know. Sometimes it’ll take us some time to get to know your hair, but we’re in it for long haul if you’re willing to go there with us! (We’re not fortune tellers, but we’re confident that a future together will be full of ‘I LOVE my hair!’ moments.)

As a Green Circle Certified salon, Stone Fox Hair is committed to using products and practices that are better for the environment, our community, and you. In other words, we passionately give a $h*!, and we only partner with other companies that do too.

That’s why we keep a tight roster of styling and colour products from Kevin Murphy, Davines, and Evo. These trailblazing brands think outside the box, carve their own paths to a brighter future, and are consciously working to better their products in a way that is also better for the environment. Rest easy knowing that all the products you’ll find at Stone Fox are biodegradable, paraben & sulphate free, and safe for your furry friends.

We’re also proud to report that 95% of our studio’s waste is recycled through Green Circle – you’ll feel good after each appointment knowing that we’re doing our part to keep this earth as healthy as possible. (And, in case you were wondering, all the chopped hair we collect helps protect our oceans from oil spills! How cool is that?)

When are you open?

Currently, our hours of operation are:  Tuesday to Friday from 10am – 8pm, and  from 11am – 5pm on Saturday’s and Sunday’s.

What services do you offer?

Cuts, colours, blowdrys, styling, updos, bridal styling, smoothing treatments – his, hers and theirs  🙂

What products do you use?

We stock and sell Kevin Murphy, Davines and Evo styling products. We also use their color products. These amazing companies are paraben and sulfate free (and those little furry animals approve of them too)!

Do you specialize?

Nope, we love doing it all!

No online booking?

That’s right. We know we may be one of the last few salons out there doing it the old fashioned way, but we want to make sure your appointments are booked correctly and with enough time so everyone has an enjoyable experience.

I call but no one answers - how can I make an appointment?

Our salon Coordinator is in the salon Tuesday through Saturday from 10:30am til 6:00pm.  If you are trying to reach us outside of these hours please leave us a detailed voicemail with your preferred phone number; we’ll return your call as soon as possible!

Why do new clients need a consultation before appointments?

We want to ensure your time in the salon is well-spent and perfectly meets your hair needs. In order to limit the number of incorrect bookings, it is now mandatory that every new colour client is booked for a consultation first.

During your consultation we’ll get to know everything we can about your hair, your lifestyle, and your desires. At the end, we’ll book you in for an appropriate appointment. We can’t stress enough how important these consultations are – for you, your stylist, and your hair.

We want to give you and your hair the best; not a rushed salon experience because your appointment or the guest before yours was booked without enough time.

What is your cancellation policy?

We’ll always give you a courtesy reminder and confirm your appointment 48 hours in advance. If you cancel within 24 hours of your appointment we reserve the right to charge you 50% of the missed appointment.

If you cancel within 24 hours more than once, you will be charged the full cost of the service. No shows will also be charged the full amount of the missed service.

As a small business, cancellations and no-shows take precious time slots away from clients who’ve been waiting for services, and our stylists miss out on work. No one likes to be stood up!

I didn’t get a confirmation - what happened?

Do we have your most current contact info? We do our best to keep up with all our clients and their lives, but if you move, change numbers, start using a different email address, etc. it is your responsibility to keep us informed with up to date contact info. (We’re kind of like a doctor’s office… for your hair!)

Where can I park?

You’ll find cheap ($1p/hr) metered parking out front and all around us. There is also free parking in the neighbourhood but you may have to drive around a little bit to find it. Ask us how to maximize your parking for those longer appointments!

How can I pay?

We accept Cash, Debit or Credit.  Sadly we don’t take Discover or American Express at this time.

I’m not quite happy with my hair / service - what can we do?

If you are unhappy with your hair for whatever reason, please let us know! We want you to love your locks. We are happy to make adjustments* within 14 days of the initial service.
*Note: some colour adjustments may be charged the product cost.

I don’t like the product I purchased! Now what?

Oh that cupboard of broken promises… we totally get it, and we are happy to exchange* for a product that will work better for your needs.
*We can only offer exchange on products, no returns. Brushes, combs and styling tools are final sale.

What do you do with all the hair you cut off?

As a proud, Green Circle Certified Salon, the locks we chop get a second life! Green Circle collects 95% of salon waste and recycles it. The hair we collect actually helps to protect our ocean from oil spills – how cool is that? Ask us more when you next visit!

What’s behind the name?

In January 2016 we started working on a big new vision for how we wanted to look, and with that, a name change! Formerly known as Hairkraft studio (since 2012), it was time to mix things up. A Stone Fox is exactly how we want our clients to feel when rocking their new ‘dos, so here we are – Stone Fox Hair.
